Parkinson’s Awareness Month

April 1, 2026
to April 30, 2026
Worldwide event

Objective : $15 000

What is Parkinson’s Awareness Month?

Parkinson’s Awareness Month, held each year in April, aims to inform the general public about this progressive neurological disease and its impact on daily life, while also highlighting the importance of research to defeat it.

During this month, Parkinson Estrie organizes various awareness activities (tulip sales, conferences, media outreach, etc.).

Red Tulip Sale

The Parkinson Estrie Tulip Sale is a fundraising and awareness activity held in April as part of Parkinson’s Awareness Month. This initiative brings the community together around a symbol of hope and solidarity.

Funds raised help support services offered directly to people living with Parkinson’s and their loved ones, as well as research, while raising awareness about Parkinson’s and the importance of community support.

In 2026, this will mark the 4th edition of this meaningful campaign.

Let’s plant hope, one tulip at a time!

It’s time to take action !

In April, during Parkinson’s Awareness Month, every gesture counts.

By taking part in the tulip sale campaign or making a donation, you directly support the mission of Parkinson Estrie and help provide essential services to people living with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.

You wish to participate but can’t purchase tulips? You can contribute by making a donation.

Together, let’s make hope and solidarity bloom in the heart of our community.

TULIP SYMBOLISM

Why the tulip?

The tulip is the official symbol of Parkinson’s disease, representing hope, resilience, and renewal. This symbol is inspired by Dr. James Parkinson and a red-and-white tulip created in his honor.

As a spring flower, the tulip also reflects Parkinson’s Awareness Month in April and reminds us of the importance of solidarity with those affected by the disease.
